Europharma welcome hundreds of AquaNor delegates to informative seminars

Europharma, leading developers of complete fish health and welfare programmes, welcomed hundreds of delegates to their seminars and stall at this year’s Aquanor conference in Norway.

Nikos Steiropoulos, Managing Director of the Clydebank-based Europharma UK, attended the conference in Trondheim, joining Norwegian colleagues to talk about the work they do and how they can support customers optimise fish production.

The team worked over the three days, speaking to those in the aquaculture industry to provide information to continually improve the industry and host several, fully-booked seminars on the upper floor of the stall.

The Europharma stand also had its own chef, supplying Aquanor 2017 delegates with samples of Norwegian salmon.

One of the most popular seminars focused on one of the organisation’s most popular products, SuperSmolt, a patented biotechnology programme that combines a functional feed and mineral bath treatment to induce optimal smoltification of Atlantic salmon without need for a winter photoperiod.

Another popular seminar was the introduction of ACD Pharma’s (Europharma’s sister R&D company) bacteriophage project that aims at improved biological control in aquaculture farming; biocontrol via bacteriophages will be important means of reducing the use of antibiotics in aquaculture industries worldwide.

Nikos, said:

“Aquanor 2017 was a fantastic success and the feedback we received was very encouraging. In addition to hosting our own stand, we also held mini seminars which proved extremely popular as we saw hundreds of delegates attend over the three days.

“In particular, our SuperSmolt seminar attracted a lot of interest and questions from both current and perspective customers were welcomed, which was very inspiring to see.

“Attending events like this is a great opportunity not only to link up with my Norwegian colleagues, but also speak face-to-face with customers and join in discussions about ways we can work together to keep improving the aquaculture industry.”
